Call me thick, lazy or whatever, but I have no idea how to use ACE. I love it, it has a great sound, can be a bit hungry on occasion, but I really need to understand the basics. How to start with a wave form or two and build up a sound.
Studio One, OS X 10.0, M-Audio Oxygen 25 keyboard.

Examine the sounds of others, and see how they did things.
Incorporate these things into your own work.
I made quite a lot of standard presets to start...bass, horn, saw lead, etc.,
without even using a cable to start.
The default preset already is patched, so you should just be able to move some filters and envelopes to get something to start. Then with those basic sounds, start trying different cable connections out and tweaking associated knobs to learn what different settings do.
ACE can seem complex and maybe have a larger learning curve than other synths, but the rewards are greater due to how deep in design it's architecture is.
The greater the effort put into it, the greater the reward for that effort.

cheers, I was having a go last night, no wires, made a bit of headway, got a few decent sounds out. Will have to read the manual more as well!
