Artillery 2 - how to play effect sound only?

Hi all!

I was using Artillery 2 (with logic 9) and wanted only the effect sound and not the original. I send an audio-track (with "no output" setting) to bus 10 (with "no output" setting) and then I side chained my audio instrument - artillery to the same bus. The "mix" is set to 100% and it gives me only effect sound when midi is triggered. The green "ON" light is on when I trigger midi, and the output meter shows the sound going out. When I release the trigger I get the red "OFF" light and there is no signal shown on the output meter, but still I hear the original sound and I can see the sound on the meter of the audio-instrument channel.
(Btw, the "key mode" is on "gate" and not "toggle")

Somehow I couldn't find a way to only hear the sound through artillery when midi was triggered... Is this a bug or just how Artillery works and is there a way to deal with this (without having to use logic's automation)?

I love the plugin though... but would be happy if someone could help me out on this one.. :)

Good vibes, Doc ta tech / Jakob

This is the way Artillery (and all effects i know of) works. As you said, you would have to mute the track via automation until you activate Artillery.

Ok, I thought that might be the answer, was just wondering. For me it seemed like a good idea to have a setting in artillery, which did not allow the original source/sound to pass through except from when an effect had been triggered....
Well... As I said, I enjoy working with the plugin, but maybe you would consider making such a function as mentioned :) ... It would be useful for me in several situations.

My solution is to use Destroy FX's MIDI Gater plugin after Artillery2 http://www.kvraudio.com/get/664.html

In Live, I set up two MIDI tracks which accept signal from the same source. One sends to Artillery2 and the other sends to MIDI Gater. I put both plugs on the same aux send.
