Zebra can't find presets

Hi,

My components directory isn't under my user, so I used the global one where all my other audio units plugins are located. Anyhow, I think I used the correct folder hierarchy :
Library>Audio>Presets>u-he>Zebra>all_the_preset_directories

But Zebra can't see any presets at all.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Yes,

Zebra currently only scans the User location. But, you could use Logic's (or whichever DAW you use) own preset loader to access most of them. (That's the drop-down menu with the arrow)

This will probably not change until final release.

However, even if you store .components in local domain, they can still access the user directories.

There are some tight reasons for preferring User domain. - For example if you go to somebody else (studio, gig, whatever) and use their computer, you wouldn't want to scramble their presets with your additions. - You would set up a user for yourself, to keep everything like on your home machine.

In my notion, presets are like documents, even the ability to customize your factory presets folder.

Hope this helps,

;) Urs

I'm running Zebra in Logic 5.51.
I can see Prog 1-12... they are just fine.
i have saved some settings, they work and reload just fine as well.
My problem is that I can't get to any of the other presets. they are in the folder they are supposed to be in... user/library/audio/presets etc... and i see them.. but they are grayed out.
How can i load these presets.

love the sound of this synth and just bought it today.
thanks

Uhm, if they are in the correct folder, you should be able to load them via Zebra's built-in preset loader.

That is, in the "Performance" pane, below the 4 XY-Controls.

There's a bank-menu (showing the folders in the presets folder), and a preset-menu, showing the current preset and offering a pop up for all presets within the currently selected folder.

The correct location is important (also uppercase/lowercase spelling):

Macintosh HD/Users/Yourname/Library/Audio/Presets/u-he/Zebra/

in that location, you should have all these folders like "Factory", "magnus", "yenorom", that act as preset banks.

If presets are greyed out, then it's due to a bug in Logic 5, which does not properly handle .aupreset files. - This is the reason why there is a dedicated preset loader/saver in Zebra itself.

Hope this helps + thanks again for purchasing Zebra,

;) Urs
