does Receptor support MIDI coming from a loaded VST?

Just have not tested this but maybe the answer is yes before I try...(there is still a lot for me in the VST world to understand)

A VSTi usually produces sound from Midi notes, and a VST effect usually may have an audio input/output function with midi control. A VST usually receives midi data routed via the Receptor midi mapper, coming from an external controller via Midi in or USB.

However a VST can also be a plugin that simply generates or routes midi - no audio involved. A VST plugin as I understand it - can have both input/output ports for midi (as well as for audio).

IN case a VST sends midi out - the host must support midi FROM the VST. Let us say I load a sequencer VST in Receptor channel 1 which transmits midi out. Will Receptor be able to route this data to the Midi bus and merge the data with the data coming from the physical ports to the midi filter module used by all channels? So this midi can be routed e.g. to an instrument on channel2?

BTW: Anyone who knows about any good VST plugin Midi sequencers? I found some here

Ebel,

To answer the last part of your question, Receptor does not support MIDI out for VST plugins.
