windows 7 64-bit - crash on startup

Is anyone using the release version of SynthMaster2 on Windows 7 64-bit? I was using SynthMaster2 on Vista 32-bit without a problem. Recently I got a new system and now I can't get SM2 to work. Here's what I'm doing:

1) download SM2 from http://www.kv331audio.com/DownloadFile.aspx?fileID=40
2) unpack all files into C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins\KV331 Audio\Synthmaster2\
3) run VST or standalone
4) it tells me it found new waveforms...so far so good
5) it asks me to enter my name, email, and serial number...still ok
6) it crashes after creating a license key file and never shows me the UI

I've tried installing multiple times, attempting to delete all traces of SM2 from the above directory and AppData. I can't get it to work. Any help is appreciated.
