Hello nice people of the u-he forum,

I had a question about using the ACE synth with multiple DAW programs. I paid for ACE, got my license code, opened up ACE in Reaper, typed in the code and it works great every time I want to use it in Reaper.

Then when I try to use ACE in Ableton live lite 8.1.5 cheese-ball edition (that came with the Axiom 49 controller)(after closing Reaper of course) ACE always comes up as the demo version. When I type in the registration code it works but first it gives me a warning that there is a file that is not accessible which is in the ACE.data folder (which I actually can't find in the folder, which is probably why it's not accessible). Every time I want to use ACE on a new track in Ableton I have to go through this procedure.

My question is, is my license only good for use with one DAW or am I allowed to use it on any DAW as long as it is on my computer? If I had to choose between Reaper and Ableton I'm not sure which one I would have initially chose.

My apologies if this question has been covered before somewhere. I have spent about three hours combing the forum and internet with no luck which is hopefully enough time to justify bringing it to you guys. Regardless, that is three hours that I could have spent plugging every cable into anywhere it doesn't belong.

Thank you very much,
Matt

That's weird: it should work in all your hosts (does in mine on both PC and Mac). I suggest you contact Urs at u-he directly.

I checked the "run as administrator" box in Ableton as per the reccomendation a previous post and now ACE loads as the registered version. Very nice.
