Bug with automation in Reaper

Hello, Vojtech

I have noticed a strange behavior of some Melda effects in Reaper.
It happens when I automate one of the parameters. When I choose one particular parameter for the envelope, it ocassionaly skips to the other parameter. At first I noticed it with Mfilter, when i was going to automate frequency of the 1st knob. After choosing this particular parameter, I saw that the envelope was tied not to frequency, but to the harmonics parameter! Then I tried to automate some other parameters but they skipped too.
It happened only with Mfilter, but today I tried to automate wet-parameter of the Mmultiband delay (the reaper's window's "wet" knob, not the Mmultiband delay window's knob) and when I reopen the project the envelope also skipped to the other parameter, as I remember, something about LFO).

It's possibly Reaper's bug. But I didnt notice such things with the other plugins (though I use not a lot of them and I am a great fan of Melda-plugins and dont wont to stop using them)

Hi Evgeny,

I jusy checked in Cubase 5 and everything seems fine. I tried Reaper, it was a fight since it isn't exactly the most straightforward host, but I managed to start the LFO and despite I selected "Wet" parameter, it was moving "Dry" parameter and it even said in the title that it is moving "Dry" parameter, not sure why and how to control it, but to me it seems like a bug in Reaper. I'll check Live.
Does anyone else have such problems?

Cheers!

Ou a little change of things - I checked Reaper once more, it seems that I got kind of lost in it last time, now I tried the LFO again and everything seems fine. Maybe if you can send me a project, so I can check directly.

Thanks a lot, Vojtech, for the fast answer!
Did you try MFilter?
I tried it just 10 minutes ago - and yes, it ties parameters to envelopes incorrect. And it happens momentally - not after re-opening or re-loading the project or a plugin

My pleasure. I just tried and MFilter seems fine as well. What may be confusing is the attaching - Reaper lets you move a parameter in the plugin GUI and then use it via LFO for example. But when you move a band, it sends multiple automation events, so the last one is the only one Reaper checks. Not very smart. Anyway if you use the menu and search for particular parameter such as Frequency 4, it will correctly control frequency of band 4. Or doesn't it?

Anyway why would you need it when you have the integrated modulation system, which I believe is much more powerful?

I have made a thread on Cockos Reaper forum:

Could you look what they answered?
Maybe it could help.

and, yes, when I tie the parameter to the envelope through the special menu (not through plugin's GUI) it works fine...
But I still dont understand the second case with dry/wet knob on Reaper's native window - it has happened only once and I cant repeat it, somaybe itsjust a small bug of the certain version of Reaper.

Well, they think we change number of parameters, but it's really just that MFilter generates multiple events when you change something. For example, when you move a band, it exports band frequency, gain, Q, harmonics, maybe something more. The only bad part about it is that it exports all of them even if you move only some of them, though this wasn't a problem so far.

I checked and it will be fixed in the new version. Anyway you have to understand that if you move a band, it will still change frequency and gain, because, well, it's what it does :).
