Everyone is so crazy about the iPad nowadays. Some friends already started making apps for the iPad. Still dont understand the "value" iPad adds to a musicians life. Why would I want to make music on it? I cant even type?

Aside from that, I think a "mini" version of SynthMaster wouldnt be that bad. Maybe better modelled filters, audio-rate signal paths everywhere?

Any ideas?

A similarly simple SM2 powered synth would be great for PC too, not just for iPad. Just make sure that the engine is cut fit exactly for the mini-synth, not just a hider skin for the original synthmaster.

The big thing is to have some Kv331 original filter changing, and wavemorphing algos with the least possible knobs. Therefore the 1paged mini-synth can have the basics with some exclusive SM2 goodies.

I agree, a slimmed down, bread and butter version would be great for the PC also, not just the iPhone/iPod. I actually never use synths on my iPod though, I find them rather annoying and will never purchased another one. Until they are powerful enough to run like Cubase and the batteries last long enough to actually create a song, I consider them pointless. Just my 2 cents.

One good thing about those iPads is just to get little ideas down before you forget them while "out and about". With a slimmed-down version of Synthmaster, it would be inspiring as well as just plain useful.

But hey...if they get more modelled filters, we get 'em too in the full version, right!?

Personally, I would love to see a version of SM for the iPad that would act as a controller only, similar to Waldorf's Rocket Control iPad app or Camel Alchemy Mobile. Such tactile control would be a huge benefit, and my assumption is that the CPU usage would be relatively low since the app wouldn't actual produce any sound.

Just my .02.

Cheers.
