Kontakt library disappears

Hello there,

I wish someone could help me here. I have Receptor 2 and there was Kontakt 4 installed when I bought it. However, for some reason, the factory library wasn't there, so I manually copied the library folder to Receptor.

Only problem is, that I can create the library: setting the library path first and then "add library", but next time I boot up the library is gone, and I have to search the sample folder for every Kontakt instrument I'm running.

I found a way to use Kontakt without library by just selecting the instruments for "files", not using library at all. But now I'm planning to buy NI Vintage Organs, so I'm worried if there would be same kind of issue with disappearing library.

I've tried to change the folder where I have the the library, if there would have been some kind of privileges issue, but with no luck.

Also, for some reason I couldn't install the newest library content update; it said that "library can't be installed before the Kontakt4 has been istalled...so there is something really wrong...

So any ideas, what could cause the problem?

Would there be a way to reinstall the library to Receptor? As we all know there ain't direct install help for Kontakt 4 yet.

all the best,
-Vm

Hey,

When you are moving over the library are you moving it from the disc or from a installed folder on your computer??

If you would like I would recommend opening a help desk ticket on plugorama.com. This would help us see what SN you have to narrow down the problem.

Thanks,

Thank you Gary,

I'll go for the ticket if necessary.

I copied the files from Macbook hard drive including Kontakt 4_info.nkc and Kontakt 4_info.nkx files (library files?).
Should I try to copy the library from the DVD?

I have more info now:

I bought NI Vintage Organs and managed to install it in Receptor. Vintage Organs library stays in Kontakt, doesn't disappear.

So, I guess there would be something wrong in my Kontakt Factory library files, the fact that I copied them from Macbook might be the problem?

Now If I just got the Factory Library to work, and manage to install the updates for it. Oh and one thing also: In the Factory Library there's something wrong in the graphics of the interface aswell. Buttons and knobs are wrong, but I can still use them.

I wanted to share how I installed the Vintage Organs: I used the windows version (.exe) installer and just dropped it to the Receptor installers folder and went to Receptor Setup and installed it from there. Works!

Ok I got the ticket and had great customer service. Didn't pay for it FYI. Now my Kontakt is perfect.
