Zebra and ACE have different interfaces and different capabilities; the experience of creating sounds on them are very different, and they each can make sounds that would be difficult or impossible on the other. They both sound great, but there's not any significant overlap.
Whether you need/want both is up to you, of course. I own and enjoy both of them.

They compliment each other well and can make sounds the other cannot. Zebra is the best all around soft synth you can buy and ACE has a vitality and life with its audio rate modulations that adds something Zebra does not have.
Get both!

I have the demo of zebra and love it - i also bought ACE and have used to two side by side..
ACE is terrific for creating strange sounds.. and often I feel it can be more meaty and raw than zebra - (but i think this is placebo)
because the interfaces are different I get different things from them.
certainly my stranger and crazier sounds come from ACE.. but thats just me.. its such a bargain you really should get ACE as well.
im about to crossgrade to zebra with URS' offer too.

What is the crossgrade. I was thinking about getting ACE now since it is cheaper and Zebra later when/if I can afford it.benburling wrote:I have the demo of zebra and love it - i also bought ACE and have used to two side by side..

Just email Urs a photo of any hardware or cakeware synth you owned that Zebra will replace. Use your imagination in your photo creation.
