MuCoder, Hello...??
Any updates to Tonespace. I continue to enjoy it as a tool for learning and fun. Hypercyclic is also a worth case for updates. Customization options? I had heard a brief "pop to the surface" last month. I wish you the best. I periodically visit your web site. Ever hopeful.

Hi paulhart,

sorry for reacting late - apparently forgot to add a link to my rss reader :-o

I can confirm that a tonespace 2.0 beta is nearly done. What to expect? Think of it as a completely rewritten, x-platform version of TS 1.0. Including OSX and Linux versions! There will be some new features (standalone version, built-in demo tracks & synth), but functionally it will be very similar to 1.0. Once I get that first milestone out of the door I can start thinking of adding new functionality...

I know I'm terrible at estimating ETA for the audio stuff (mainly due to two day jobs that get in the way ;-)), but in any case I hope to announce it soon here and on www.mucoder.net

In any case many thanks for your patience all his time - feedback like this keeps me going

Now that tonespace has been revamped,
any chance Hypercyclic can also be updated??

Loading and or dnd of custom MIDI recordings for groove patterning would be amazing!

there is a bugfix release planned in the relatively near future, but as to new features... love to - but as usual, gimme a bit of time ;-)

btw can you elaborate a bit on how that groove patterning should work? Drag & drop from where to where?

Hello. New sampler of ToneSpace. 1st impression.

Modal help not nice for tutorial format.
Monochrome keyboard layout unclear in some modes.
(EDIT: Not sure what I was seeing here! Back to fooling w/the app, and have color in key display. More info if I re-discover. sorry...)

Thanks for your efforts, and congrats on your success to this time!

Basically the timing of notes ( on||off ? ) in a recorded MIDI file could be used as an additional step division option.Image
DnD would be one way the MIDI file could be loaded ( along with a standard dialog ).

I've had problems in the past matching the divisions with grooves ( especially live ones )
and I spent a lot of time to get it 'just right'.
Being able to use a short MIDI recording as a groove could cut down on 'tweak time' ;).

ah OK, nice screenshot, now I understand better. You mean midi note-on events as gate triggers, right? Could be interesting indeed.
Do you also need the note-off events to control gate durations, or should that still be controlled by the gate parameter?

Didnt think of that but yea it would be great if off length could control gate
( optional ? "perfect" : "please make it optional " ) ;)
