I can't ignore the link, it's the 4th link at the top of KVR with the most interesting name up there! (sorry Plugorama, it just doesn't catch my eye as much) I mean, as an artist with low inspiration, it has much appeal to it.
Well...temptation lead me astray and I clicked the link, and now I feel dead. My arsenal of equipment doesn't include this...famed "Receptor 2"! I ask myself now...how am I living now without one?
By Zeus and all holy entities! It is a piece of unforetold glory that only existed in the legends of longago, and yet, people use it and speak of it. My only wish is to taste this life-giving blood!
Oh Buddha, the idea of owning one makes my eyes tear up inside. And for this holiday...it's all I ask for!
(taking a look at the price tag)
My dreams...thus have been shattered...Astray I have been lead...and thus temptation lead to damnation.

that was rather poetic...

This is what credit cards are for; dreams coming true today (perhaps at the cost of nightmares later on!). I have found and regularly use the glory that you have been struck by, and it fuels my inspiration in each use. I paid for it with credit....

Actually, to be honest, my intention of posting this was to ask peoples opinions on the Receptor...but I wrote so poeticly there at the end I didn't know how to transition from poetry to simple question that I felt I could not ruin such. So I suppose now I can ask here. What is the word on the receptor? is it's price tag worth it?
Which speaking of credit cards...I don't mess with credit cards. It seems like too much of a hassle for me. I plan on getting one soon, but...if you are familiar with me always complaining about being broke, there is a reason (among a few others too) is that I am terribly irresponsible with my money (I'm working on that though) so I am certain if I had a credit card, impulse-buys would increase dramatically, and depression and stress would increase exponentially when the bill hits me later.
I have been taught the best way to avoid that, and also to help the economy would be to spend the money you have or will have in the near future. Believe me, I don't make much money very fast...so there is no "near future to pay off" for me.
I don't know. There is a lot I want, but...what I really want...is to create good music. I'm going to be honest: I hate my newest song, and sadly...I have put hours of work into it, and I can't stand it.

I keep hoping maybe a piece of hardware will increase tonal and production quality, but being strapped for cash, and not owning any real hardware to base this hypothesis on, I cannot just jump in so easily. I just know the software I use is not enough to get the production quality I want..but also...it hurts...but I just don't make good music, but I WANT to make good music.
'twas not to be...indeed.

IMHO, outboard wont help you too much. you will sit in front of your comp. and the outboard, and feel just the same you do now (only a bit poorer)
Some purchases that would improve creativity? A field recorder and/or a nice keyboard/guitar/mic/whatever-you-play. Trust me, i'm so much better comeing up with stuff with the keyboard than just clicking notes into my daw.

excellent point!
Yes...I think I am changing my interest to a midi controller. Maybe I'll get around to a Receptor 2 when I am rich and famous...well maybe not the famous part.
