Problem Registering ACE

I recently had to re-install Windows and all of my software due to a virus.
Now when i try and register ACE I get this error. File not accessible!
(x86)\Ableton\VST-32\ACE.data\.com.u-he.ACE.user.txt

Hi,

That's a permissions problem under Win Vista/7. I have to make the installer yet more clever

Here's a quick guide to move things into permission-save territory:

• in Windows Explorer, find the Vstplugins directory that contains ACE.dll. It should also contain a folder called "ACE.data"
• move the entire ACE.data folder into C:\Users\(you)\Documents\
• right-click ACE.data in its new location, and create a shortcut (symbolic link)
• move the shortcut back into the Vstplugins directory that contains ACE.dll
• if the shortcut is called "ACE.data shortcut", rename it "ACE.data"

This way ACE follows the shortcut to look for its resources. You should be all set, whatever the rights permissions for Vstplugins.
