Mixdown to .wav - noise problem

Hello,

As I've mentioned, I'm still using 2.5.7 free version (in order to finish some older projects).
Most of exported .wav files are all right, with expected good quality. But there's a song that is always exported with some troublesome noise added - it doesn't matter if the song is mixed at once (I mean all tracks together) or if the tracks ar exported individually. The noise isn't loud, nevertheless it's still audible and thus really annoying. Actually the noise doesn't accompany the playing parts only, but it's possible to hear it even if there should be total silence (in the composition) - and its presence is still visible on the level meter (e.g. in Audacity).
I've tried many ways of setting the rack volume levels in MU.LAB - the noise seemed to vanish only with extremely low levels, but it's hard to call it the solution, while the resultant files are totally blurred and distorted due to this "almost silence" level.
This song is using external virtual instruments tracks and an audio track - none of them is mixed noise-free.
Maybe the problem is banal and there's some simple and obvious solution, but since I can't find any logical background of this problem, I'm very frustrated ;)
Please help me if you know how to solve it.

When MU.LAB detects an invalid key it will add a soft noise in the audio output. Could it be that you're using an invalid key?

Not actually - it's free older version, so I haven't been requested for any key.
What is more, the audio output when played in MU.LAB is entirely OK, the problem reveals after a mixdown.
It's strange because other songs are mixed down well (with indentical sound engine settings etc), there's no problem with unwanted noise.

Please post a link to, or email me (a part of) that mixdown (the actual Aiff or Wav file, no mp3) so i can have a listen to it. Thanks.

Hi varjar,

Thanks for sending the audio file.

Question: i see the audio file is 32 bit.
But MU.LAB FREE doesn't allow for 32 bit mixdowns.
So how come the mixdown is 32 bit?

Another question: If you replace the VST synths and effects by MuSynths and Muxes, just for testing, then is the noise still there?

For it could be that the noise is generated by (a) VST plugin(s) in order to avoid floating point denormalizations. Of course in such case the noise should be there too in playback.

Hi mutools,

Thank you very much for your interest.

Of course with MU.LAB I can export files only with 16 bit range.
But, as I said, I put the two tracks (mixed down individually) into Audacity. It's actually my mistake, because I haven't noticed the .wav export quality in Audacity was, in this moment, set for 32 bit. But setting it to 16 bit doesn't seem to change anything in this case.

Yes, with Kore Player replaced by MuLAB instruments the problem actually vanishes - there's no noise. But, you know, actually I'd prefer to stay with the original selection of instruments because it creates the song's character.

It's really weird thing - I've worked out a few songs with Kore Player instruments and there were no problems with any noise, only this one seems to be some kind of damned ; ) What is even weirder - this selection of VST instruments seems to have influence on audio (vocal) part: exported from project with MU.LAB instruments sounds all right, exported from the other one - there's noise as well...

So it seems to be a Kore Player issue.

Maybe on the Kvr instruments forum people know more. Or on the NI forum. Or the NI support team.

If you would find the reason, please feedback here too. Thanks.
