This would be a gift to a person who has a background in signal processing and plays keys a little.
Long ago, I shocked this person and got them a Yamaha SY-22 out of the blue.
At the time, I spent about $800.
I want to save up and surprise this person again, but this time I want it to be Zebra.
The breakdown looks something like this:
1. Zebra 2.5 - $200 (Note that I want to give Urs the extra $50
2. Podium as host - $50 (just to be able to record and compose)
3. Midi Controller - $100 - $200
4. Computer - $400 - $500
5. Headphones - $100
I'm comfortable with most the items, but the computer is the part that throws me. Should I go with a notebook? a mini? a Mac, and what is "enough" power for someone who is typically going to play this as a single instrument?
I imagine this person will tweak a lot (just play with Zebra) and maybe compose a little.
Anyway, if you were to put together a complete Zebra station for someone what components would you get?
Also it has to stay under $1000.
Best regards,
Gino
