I want to put some of my stuff on a CD. Is there something i need to download to convert it to mp3? I could use some help.

Do you just want to encode wav files to mp3 files? If so, then use Lame:

http://lame.sourceforge.net/index.php

But use a frontend like this one, which I use:

http://www.dors.de/razorlame/index.php

SUPER easy, and free.

But if you're making a CD, that doesn't use mp3 files- you'll be using wav files for that (hence the better quality sound of a CD). You'll want to use software that makes redbook CDs. You'll have to look here on KVR a bit but I'm sure you'll find something for free. I don't know what off the top of my head as I use Wavelab for that.

Hope this helps.

Actually I was just wanting to make a CD. I'm pretty new to this site.

are you trying to make a data cd backup of the files mu.lab requires to open a file, or just an audio rendering of your song? do you wanna put your cd into your car stereo?

I want it to play in a regular CD player. Like you said. I don't need any kind of backup. Just like a regular boombox. How do i do that?

render a wave file thats 16bit, 44.1khz and use a program like wavelab or soundforge or nero burning rom to burn it to a cd as audio. voila.

oh and your questions about simple stuff can easily be answered with a google search. please dont make us answer basic stuff. at least give us a challenge! we are happy that you have chosen mu.lab, but everyone needs to do their own homework. :-o :help:
