Hi Urs,

Just downloaded the Ace demo and loving it so far. However, I was just trying to automate the tuning of one of the stacked voices and it won't appear in Live when I click on it after clicking Configure. All the other knobs appear fine so I'm pretty sure there's some kind of problem. Anyway, consider me convinced to purchase Ace!

By the way, I already own Uhbik. If I now buy Ace and Zebra, is there some kind of Urs-bundle? :-)

Also, I've been away from music for a while but I swear there was a way to load Uhbik-A patches with the Mix set to 100% Wet (for use on buses). However, I can't remember how?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Unfortunately I've been notorious about not making all parameters automatable. The main reason is backwards compatibility for plugins that came out at a time where Live could only automate the first 128 parameters. At some point I might find a workaround and unleash all parameters, but for now some are simply inaccessible. You can however MIDI-Learn them and use MIDI controlers (an area which could do with some improvement as well)

Hehe, regarding bundles, that's another rather difficult question. I might come up with some sort of "extra reward" once the new website and user area is done, but I won't make any promises. Generally, I think I have a good track record of cost of ownership :)

Regarding the Mix thing, I had planned to make parameters lockable. I havn't got around doing it though. Yet.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Hi Urs,

Thanks for the prompt response. Ace is quite a recent release though so I would have thought no real issue with letting more parameters be automated?

I did try assigning a knob to a stacked voice using Midi Learn but the resolution on my controller must be terrible because it was impossible to precisely control it. And I don't think there's a way to set a limited range in Ace? Basically, I wanted to be able to automate moving between a major and minor chord by changing one of the notes in the stack, and my work-around has been to use two instances of Ace in an instrument rack and then Chain Select to switch between them. It's not ideal because Live won't record my automation into a clip, but it works.

I bought Ace earlier today and you have a very happy customer. I made it two patches in (BT Punchy Chicago) before I was totally blown away by how amazing it sounded. There's definitely something magical going on!

By the way, any chance of having Uhbik-Q display frequencies? Would be helpful when I'm using a spectrum analyser to check stuff (I know… "trust your ears"… but sometimes it just helps :-)).

Out of interest, what soft-synths do *you* like and rate (other than your own, obviously!).

All the best,

Alex

Hi Urs, I don't usually beg, but please let the stacked voices be automated! I'm working around it with multiple instances but it's a bit of a nightmare really… I'm chasing a sound that would be so easy to get if only those knobs were bloody automatable!

Also, does the manual skip the "Circuit Bending" and ability to route "tap map" waveform to LFO2?

Thanks :-)

Alex
