Well, I finally figured out a way to fix the Reaper crash i've been experiencing. This works with the latest release, Haven't tested on others.
No need to delete any user wavforms, presets, etc.
Hope this can help somebody...
1. Disable VST bridging in Reaper.
2. Unzip Synthmaster to VST directory
3. Clear Cache/Rescan VSTs in Reaper
4. Go to Synthmaster directory and open Synthmasterfolders.txt
5. clear (delete all the text from) the document and save it.
6. make it read only.
7. Profit!
