hi gang

I got my RECEPTOR 2+ ProMax few weeks ago and I realize the following behavior:
when I plug the power cable into the power socket, RECEPTOR boots itself for a few seconds (initializing on display) and next, RECEPTOR shuts down itself.
is that normal ?

haven't had this with my RECEPTOR 1 Rev. C...

+1 interested as well because i'm planning tu upgrade from receptor rev. C

This is normal.
Be very concerned when IT DOESN'T momentarily power-up.

I was told, but I forget.
It's something like a 'power cycle' that accepts the power source, and makes it ready for a faster start-up.

You could check w/ Muse for the real answer...

Its behaviour that is unique to the Intel motherboards. I'm not sure precisely why the do it, but I would hazard to guess that it is checking that the fans are connected... Intel is very picky about fan configurations and checks the tach signals to verify that the fans are connected and running at the right speed. With Receptor, we designed it so it would stay up even if one fan failed (thanks to a 2 pound solid copper heatsink!) but there is no way to defeat it from doing this check when you first plug it in.

Having said that, if the unit powers up all the way when you first plug it in, then there is a BIOS setting that is incorrect and you should contact Tech support and they will walk you through the proper settings.
