There are a couple of things that do not work so well with RMV - one is the looping feature; although it sounds great the major problem with it is that the loops do not align with the start of the bar. Without this glitch it would be a quite usable instrument.
Also a question - if I use the Drag feature from a loop onto the CUbase arrangement page (into a midi track) it only creates something that looks like playing a slow upwards scale going from C1 to B5 - is there any way I can make a working midi drum pattern from the loop instead?
The other thing we noticed was when using the (sampled) Pads there seems to be a "flanged" quality on the sounds, we compared some of the Kohlekeller kits to some SampleTank kits (e.g. the Ludvig) (both played life through a CS1x keyboard) and the ST sounds much more realistic, natural and up front (even with all effects disabled).
ON the RMV the bass drums sounded thin and phasy and there was a flangy quality to the rides. Is this just a problem with the sampled sounds that are provided with RMV or might it be a setup problem? What is the most natural sounding kit in the preset list?
Last question, if I quickly want to put together a kit from a bunch of (AKAI) samples is there an easy way to drop the wave files from Windows Explorer onto the pads?
My Host Systems are CubaseVST32, version 5.2 through a M-Audio Delta 1010 and a Delta66 on the other system, set to 6ms latency. Just in case you wonder, I do NOT intend to upgrade to SX any time soon.
