Seeing as U-he products do anything and everything imaginable I refuse to believe Uhbik-T can't do random modulation.
I just can't work out how

I just can't work out how

Ask not what Urs can do for you ask what you can do for your self.. Set up your own d.... Random generator.. Just modulate the parametres from your sequencers...Mushy Mushy wrote:Frankly I expected more from you mateUrs wrote:it can't![]()

waves break, but somehow it all makes sense.

Not really random then is itTwoToneshuzz wrote:Ask not what Urs can do for you ask what you can do for your self.. Set up your own d.... Random generator.. Just modulate the parametres from your sequencers...

if you happen to use live and own max for live, any plugin's modulation limitations become meaningless... but I do appreciate when I can cook up what I want to do inside the plugin without resorting to DIY's

Dont stop believing mate. You shouldn't let a doubter like Urs change your mindMushy Mushy wrote: I refuse to believe Uhbik-T can't do random modulation.

Seriously though, Uhbik T is an amazing device which I have used much time experimenting with.
A pattern gate controlled tremolo it's wild!
But randomizing stuff is an issue for many it seems.. But pure randomzation is surely not that useful..
I'd bet you could achieve Chaotic goals with a little thought from a preety basic set up..
Now let me see, I think I'll just fire up the old model T and see what this is all about..
But first MR. Mushy Mushy what parametres need randomization if you wouldn't mind me asking?

I have a percussive type lead line that is too constant. I want a tremolo to randomly chop notes out.TwoToneshuzz wrote:But first MR. Mushy Mushy what parametres need randomization if you wouldn't mind me asking?

Take your signal..split into two or more diffrent busses. Put a UHBIK T on each of them. Now use diffrent clock subdivision on each the Tremolos, use a extreme depth amount. play with the patterns to assure that don't have many paralel points.
Take the output from the Two Tremolos. mix to taste.
Fast method numbber 1 if you use three Tremolos it will definately be widly unpredicatble..
You could use assymetrical mix automation from the outputs to increase the randomness.
This is not true random but I challenge anyone to say that it will appear too regular after this treatment..

Very easily done in Reaper:TwoToneshuzz wrote: Just modulate the parametres from your sequencers...

You can just as easily apply random LFO parameter modulators to VSTs like UHBIK as well.

I was a little in the Dark as to what programs he was using, but if it's Reaper then that's darn good advice, Random Lfos, is that a Sample and Hold Lfo by another name?

No, the random values are linearly interpolated, e.g. the generated values look like this:TwoToneshuzz wrote:I was a little in the Dark as to what programs he was using, but if it's Reaper then that's darn good advice, Random Lfos, is that a Sample and Hold Lfo by another name?

BTW: normally, the parameter modulation does not create an actual envelope, but I "recorded" the modulation by setting the envelope mode to "write" and hit play for a while.
From this generated curve it's easy to create a s&h random envelope, just select the points and right click -> set shape for selected points -> square followed by "reduce points" (to about 1/2 of the points) to get rid of those little extra points (you know what I mean when you see it). I ended up with:

That sure looks random to me. So I guess the easiest way to acheive the dropping of beats would be to apply this to a relatively high Depth amount...
Thanks
