I'm using Thesys in Reaper and even though Thesys will sync to Reaper clock I can't seem to get it to start when I hit the play button in Reaper. I have to start Reaper then push the play button on Thesys.

Shouldn't Thesys' play control sync to the host system...or is that a feature currently not present? Any work-arounds?

tnx

Soooo I guess this is normal for Thesys? Is there any way to trigger it to start playing (as a VST plugin) from within a sequence?

Find it hard to believe that it won't automatically start playing when the host goes into play mode.... :(

Have you already tried exporting the midi data to the host directly or via a midi file and then just run it from the host as an alternative?

In this particular instance I'm using Reaper more as a live host rather then a DAW. I use Stylus RMX in Reaper this way as well. I can have certain things like volume, panning etc. automated. So exporting the Midi info from Thesys wouldn't be applicable.

If I could even useg a Midi controller # or note to automate the Play button on Thesys, that would be great. I coule put it in with the rest of the automation. The problem is getting Thesys sync with the other apps, like RMX, once I hit the play button. Time wise it's ok, but position-wise it's not. SPP won't really help as the song might be 150 bars long but thesys is running maybe 4 bars then looping.

I don't have this problem in Reaper. On the right-hand, in the section titled "Sequencer Settings", is the "Trigger Mode" set to "Host"?

Post

des, don't know if I understood your question correctly.
What I'm doing to start Thesys and my song in reaper in sync, is quite simple. I set the "trigger mode" to "host". Alway when I start my song thesys starts too.

Or I set "trigger mode" to "note on", and add a midi item in Thesys' track.
Then I place a note (C5), where I want Thesys to start.

Yea, I looked right past that setting. Guess I need a bigger monitor so I can see it better....
