MuLab + RME Fireface 800 Problem

At the studio where I do stuff lately we got a RME Fireface and I thought to use it with MuLab but apparently it's not recognized by the program.
I can choose inputs and outputs but the "play" button doesn't work at all.
Tried with the official drivers, tried through ASIO4All.
As a consolation, Windows Media Player also can't work with RME Fireface, so, we're stuck with Cubase which I hate (passionately)

Does MuLab say "Couldn't start audio engine"?

Please also do this:

-> Goto HELP menu -> Help functions -> Start Logging
-> Goto EDIT menu -> Audio Setup -> make sure all is set fine -> click OK
-> I assume at this point the Play button still doesn't work
-> Quit MuLab and mail me the latest Log-yyymmdd-hhmmss.txt in your MuLab folder

No, it starts normal.

Strange that you don't get that "could not start audio engine" alert.

Another test: Does audio stream in and out?
I mean: If you connect audio in to audio out in the session modular area, and you talk in a mic, then do you hear the mic on the speakers?
To make that test more explicit you could insert a reverb between audio in and out thus setting up MuLab as a straight effect processor.
