Also, Google delivers lots of results for a "free piano soundfont" search.

There are loads, but some of them are really terrible. There are some really good ones too though if you have the patience to sift through the crap.

Your best bet is to use KVR's search or Google to find some file recommendations - this is quite a common question.

True, but you have download and try everything.

One person's great piano is another person's junk and vice-versa.
All depends on what you're looking for and the context.

This is a free VST http://www.yohng.com/software/piano.html (32 and 64 bit). Its not perfect but with a lil bit of tweaking i find it pretty useful.

I use a combination/layering of this, FL Keys and some synth patch to get a nice danceish piano like the ones from reFX Nexus.

Not to mention our old friend mda piano. Not fantastic, but very good and very light on the CPU.

These ones are mentioned frequently, when it comes to top piano soundfonts.

Looks like 1-2 Many may have already mentioned the same/similar soundfont, but this one would be my top freebie pick SRX_2_Grand_3_layer_(Complete).sf2
