So I have this case again where someone installed 32 bit (works fine) and 64 bit versions of Zebra, latter of which then doesn't show up in Cubase 64 bit on PC.

We had quite a few of these issues, and always with Cubase 64 bit. I think it was something like "if 32-bit is installed, it takes that... it only deals with 64-bit versions if no 32-bit is installed at the same time"

Can anyone confirm this? - I don't have a C64 (no pun intended) on my Win machine...

Thanks,

;) Urs

Never had that problem with Zebra. Always have 32 and 64 bit versions of plug ins installed: 64 bit for Cubase6 64 bit and 32 bit for Ableton Live.
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit but without Service Pack 1.

Always updated Cubase6 from 6.00->6.01->6.02->6.03->6.04beta: no probs
Always use latest versions of Zebra, Zebralette, Zebrify, ACE, TyrellN6

My folder structure:
32bit: c:\audio\vst\synth\u-he\...
64bit: c:\audio64\vst64\synth\u-he\...

u-he data folders are in:
d:\sounds\u-he\...

Always used the normal installers from the downloads and copied the files manually to the folders above and created the shortcuts to the data folders.

In Cubase plugin manager you have to name the vst2.x paths manually once. So i pointed to:
c:\audio\vst\ and c:\audio64\vst64\

Every time when Cubase starts it looks for new versions or plugs in that directories. If Cubase 64 bit detects both 32 and 64 bit versions it automatically prefers the 64 bit version. The 32 bit version then is not visible in Cubase plugin manager.

For some reason it could be that a plugin ends on the "blacklist".
Search for the file "Vst2xBlacklist Cubase.xml" and delete it. Next time Cubase is started all plugins will be re-scanned.

If Zebra 64 bit won't show up again, just open the blacklist xml file and search for Zebra. If it's on the blacklist again then there's most likely a problem with Steini.

Had the same problem with NI ReaktorFX until version 5.6!

Gerald
