I really really really love many of these patches..The unshushable Coktor wrote:After a few days of revising, renaming, and weeding through, I've reduced my soundbank by quite a few redundant presets and added about a dozen, corrected loudness and other things.
There's less presets now, but it's a much better collection than before.
Here's the new version of my preset pack:

Feel free to delete the old pack, that was a rather unpolished affair.
Cheers
thank you very very much..bring on the funk.

Anyone has created a convincing Piano patch? Or can explain how to create one ?
Thanks!
Thanks!

With the caveat that you're unlikely to find a truly convincing acoustic piano in Diva - its strengths lie elsewhere - I'd suggest starting with a filtered square or slightly rectangular (pulsed) wave and concentrate on getting the envelopes, particular the VCA, right first. Then move on to experimenting with filter keytrack, resonance, pwm, extra oscillators + detune, different shapes etc.Nimrod7 wrote:Anyone has created a convincing Piano patch? You might have more luck aiming for an EP sound... I've discovered a half decent one. I suspect Howard's got something much better up his sleeves.

Somewhere on teh intertubes is an interview with Eric Persing where he describes how he analyzed the overtones of a piano to recreate it for the factory banks of the 80s Roland synths ("How is the piano?" was the first question back then and not "How are teh wobblesaws?").
He mainly used synced pulsewaves to get the harmonics right. It will of course never sound convincing. His presets were absolutely great nontheless
2 Audio examples of his MKS-70 patches from synthmania:

That sounds not bad at all, coming from a subtractive synth! You're right, Dennis, it'll never replace a "Flügel", but hats off to Eric nontheless.Bronto Scorpio wrote:2 Audio examples of his MKS-70 patches from synthmania:

Hi guys,
I never released patches before, but I just had to find out how thick and dirty a Diva can get.
Quite a lot actually
Find my patches here:
