Hi Ursula and family,

Been trying to install Tyrell N6 onto Reaper. No luck...
Followed the readme file to a tee, but to no avail - am I missing out on something here?

Thanks for your kind attention.

For the record, this is what followed after trying to download both the normal and x64 versions...

That's most-likely the Windows 7 permissions problem, you can read about it (and a fix) here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=306890

I followed the Zebra 2 installation manual, which describes the same contents found within the thread you suggested. However, it was all in vain - x64 version just wouldn't appear, and the x86 version starts spewing out the prompts I posted + the GUI doesn't appear at all, leaving me with just the init patch.

As you might know, Tyrell doesn't install in the same manner as Zebra 2 does. I tried keeping the .data folders well away from the plugins directory, but no success either. The .zip file wasn't corrupted, FYI... :(

Pity.

Well, if you follow the instructions in bmrzycki's post closely then TyrellN6 just works.

Or simply start Reaper as an administrator. Often works too.

Why are you installing the data folders into C:\Program Files (x86)\REAPER (x64)\Docs ? You should be placing Tyrell into your VSTPlugins folder.

Here's how I install Tyrell.

1. Download http://www.u-he.com/TyrellN6/downloads/TyrellN6Win.zip

2. From the .zip file copy TyrellN6(x64).dll into your plugins folder. For this example I'll assume that directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins. This will create file C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins\TyrellN6(x64).dll

3. Open "Documents" (Libraries -> Documents) and create a folder named "u-he".

4. Copy the folder "TyrellN6.data" (and all its files/subfolders) into Libraries -> Documents -> u-he.

5. Open Libraries -> Documents -> u-he in the file explorer. Right-click the TyrellN6.data folder and select "Create Shortcut". This will create the shortcut "TyrellN6.data - Shortcut" in the same folder as TyrellN6.data.

6. Rename "TyrellN6.data - Shortcut" to "TyrellN6.data" by right-clicking the file and choosing Rename (don't worry, it won't overwrite the folder of the same name). At this point you should have the following folder structure:

7. Now drag (file move) the TyrellN6.data shortcut (the one with the small arrow on the folder icon) into C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins\. It should be at the same location as TyrellN6(x64).dll. If you did it right it should look like this:Image

8. Double click to open the newly-moved TyrellN6.data shortcut and verify you see the sub-folders "Data" and "Presets". If you do, then you're done. Run Reaper now. If you didn't, re-read these instructions carefully and see what you did differently.

This is how I install Tyrell and it works perfectly for me.

Done! Still getting used to Reaper 4...

I thought that it would be OK if I installed the .dll and the data folder in C:\Program Files\REAPER (x64)\Plugins. When that didn't happen, I created a new folder for the 3rd. party VSTi's, followed by Reaper Preferences/Plug-ins/VST, added the new folder in the plug-in paths, then rescanned...works perfectly now!

Thanks for the help people!

EDIT: Solved! I had overlooked the folder path. Cubase suggested Program files bla bla...when in my OS it has a different name. Everything's working. I am looking forward to check Tyrell out.

Thanks u-he for making it free!
