(sylenth1) LFO "Gain" Vs. Dest. Amt. help

I'm having trouble understanding the relationship on the LFOs between the "gain" knob and the Destination Amount knob. In my experience with other synths, usually you just set an LFO rate, attach it to a modulation target, and adjust the Amount to your liking -- but sylenth also has this "Gain" knob in addition to the typical Rate and Amount knobs; obviously the amount knob effects the range of the modulation, but what is Gain actually doing? My tests make it seem like gain is actually increasing the range, that is, it changes the setting of the Amount knob...but why would you need both?

Someone break this down for me?

Would really like some info here...obvious as it may or may not be. The LFO's on every soft synth I own do not have a "gain" knob...

The gain knob controls the amount or amplitude of the lfo. But since there is a destination amount called LFO Gain, usually in other synths its being multiplied. So if you have a gain half way lets say, and you add a gain amount in the mod matrix which is zero, it should multiply the gain by zero. But there is still gain in the lfo. So it seems instead of multiplying it adds it. So 50%+0 = 50%. (I think its like this but Lennard can explain more). So you have to make the gain 0 and then turn up the destination amount for the lfo gain.

thanks for the information; I find it a bit confusing, but am starting to understand the concept of the multiplication; funny that this synth, which generally is a pretty straight-forward, non-complex synth compared to many others on the market, nonetheless has a much more complicated LFO control system going on...

also, in the instruments forum here, I posted the same question (due to initial lack of responses here) and got just one reply, who said (and I beleive this is quite different than the explanation here) that he 'thought' the Amount knob was relative to the Gain knob, meaning the maximum value possible on the Amt. knob is whatever the Gain knob is currently set to.

If this is the case, it seems to contradict the multiply-function explained above, though I do find that explanation (which very well may be correct) the more confusing of the two...but THAT said, the second explanation, while making technical sense, functionally seems completely redundant and useless...

Would love it if Lennard could chime in here...

Also, and I don't mean this as an attack, but there are numerous people who post in here that actively make+sell banks of presets for Sylenth, SURELY some of them understand the actual relationship of the Gain + Amt knobs on the LFOs and could contribute here..?

I made several soundbanks for Sylenth so I know what I am talking about. But just try it yourself. Set the gain to 0 then turn up the gain amount in the destination amount. And you can see that the lfo gain will be active. If it were multiplication then 0 gain times 50 dest amount (0*50) would be 0. but its not. It is 50. So it must add it. (0+50=50)
