Hi,

i just found Moog Memorymoog patch sheets (+ the manual) here:
http://www.cyborgstudio.com/synthmanual ... Letter%20M

Could be interesting to reprogram some of those presets in Diva. I'll give it a try soon.
For this it would be nice to have some audio demos of the real thing with those presets. I just found a few demos here:
http://www.lintronics.de/downloads.html
I'l try to use a few for calibration of the Diva parameters.

If someone finds more audio examples, especially for those patch sheets above, it would be nice. :)

It seems to be unclear if the Memorymoog got a Moog or a CEM filter. Maybe someone could help to clear this up.It could be also a problem to do proper PWM with the 3OSc module. If only 2 OSCs are needed maybe the 2 VCO module could be used. In the Memorymoog OSC3 could be used for PW modulation which is maybe difficult to reproduce.

UPDATE:
PWM with the "Shape Mod" in the 3 OSC module seems to work.

CEM3340 VCOs
CEM3310 ADSRs - with additional stuff for the RTZ shapes
Moog ladder VCF

Interestingly every Moog synth has a different ladder filter design. They're all different in one way or another.

Thanks,

just found some info here:
http://www.interlogic.jpn.org/memorymoog/spec.html

looks like the VCOs are different to the Mini.

Found more info about the Memorymoog:
It uses 19x CEM3340 VCO, 26x CEM3360 Dual VCA, 12x CEM3310 EG

This means that the VCO and VCA chips are identical to the Jupiter 6.

The VCO, VCA and EG ICs of the Memorymoog are identical to the OB-8 and OB-Xa: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtis_CEM

The VCOs and EG ICs are identical in the Prophet 5 Rev. 3.

The conclusion is that the Memorymoog is like a OB-8 with a Moog ladder filter and 3VCOs instead of 2.

We have a Memorymoog. It sounds very "harsh" and "screechy" in comparison to the Model D. Not nearly as rounded.

However, I'm saving up to get it to Rudi Linhardt for a full makeover.

That would be cool. This would be some nice additional models for Diva i'm sure.

The difference in sound could be based on the different VCOs and VCAs maybe and the filter is maybe slightly different too.

The VCOs and EG ICs from CEM seem to be identical to the OB-8 and Prophet 5 Rev. 3. I'll check how far i could come with the current modules.

It's Hans Zimmer's Memorymoog. I had to promise him to never emulate it. He sold it to me for 1$ (which I still owe him) as an example for how a Moog should *not* sound.

Eh... I love the sheer power of Memorymoog sound... Sure, Mini is a sexy bitch, but Memorymoog tears down whole walls. It is immense.

Would love to see it modelled :D

How about this one:

hi Urs,

is it possible to do a 3 VCO module based on the Jupiter 6? This seems to use the same CEM3340 VCO IC's as the Memorymoog, Prophet 5 Rev. 3 and OB-8/OB-Xa.

Here is a Diva preset which is not a replication of a certain Memorymoog preset but is based on the features available in it:
https://rapidshare.com/files/1020556246 ... ss__IW.zip

I got the Memorymoog patch sheets (see OP) but no really fitting audio demos so far. More or less that preset above is a combination of settings for differnt Brass presets in the Memorymoog patch sheets.

It would be cool if someone (Urs?) could publish a few audio demos, at least of the brass presets of the real thing.
I'll also check the Memorymoon demo again. AFAIk it did not contain all original factory sounds.

I'll give you $2 for it - cash up front!

Hi Urs,
you are right, the sound is very harsh and has a kind of digital distortion.

Many years ago I had a Memorymoog.
I bought it because I thought it was a 6 voice Minimoog. But it was it not.
I was never happy with it. So I sold it.

It's not a Minimoog. It's a Memorymoog. It's a cannon! But it still has the "Moog" sound, albeit a bit different than Minimoog.

I think "fat bastard" would be a proper descriptor :D

Fat it is! :)

With lack of good or fitting Audio demos i used the patch sheets (see OP) and the Demo version of Memorymoon to recreate one of the Memorymoog factory sounds:

https://rapidshare.com/files/2662315295 ... _2__IW.zip
If i find an audio demo of the real thing i'll try to correct that preset.

UPDATE:
second example: https://rapidshare.com/files/3138757054 ... _4__IW.zip

I'll also try if i could get a kind of calibration for the Memorymoog patch sheets with this preset. The envelope values are almost identical in Diva (with the Digital ADSR) in comparison with the Memorymoog, at least for this preset. The biggest difference is in the filter envelope amount.
