Could someone recommend me a 32-bit desktop setup?

One, I know this isn't the right forum, but because I communicate more in this forum, I feel it might get a better response. Two, I suck at computer specs and setup etc...
I'm looking for a 32-bit system because I want to be able to use the software I've bought over the last couple of years without any hastle with bridges, and because I don't use huge sound libraries and the like.
Obviously it'll need to be able to cope with Diva, and I will probably play a bit of Minecraft and some 8-bit emulated games here and there, so for graphics an decent but adequate card will suffice.
I've been fretting over this for months now and just get a mental block when I see all these options and specs, so any suggestions would be massively appreciated!
My budget is 1 to 1.5k (in pounds, not dollars!), but I could stretch a wee bit more if need be.
Thanks in advance for any help!

You can run a 32-bit host on 64-bit windows, without issues, so personally, I cant see a good reason not to go Win7 64bit. And future proofed against having to reiinstall from scratch should you move to 64-bit host/plugins.
On your budget, I'd suggest a 2600K i7, P67 chipset, with 8Gb RAM, and a passive NVidia G210 graphics card should handle the games you're talking about.
Have a look at Scan's SA68 PowerDAW configfuration...

Yes, don't get a 32-bit system for audio.

I have a x64 system, x64 OS ... but run 32bit plugins... no problem so far!
If you would like to run Win7, I'd recommend a 2G RAM minimum.... (4G recommended minimum
) ... the rest is pretty obvious aka get the hottest CPU you can afford (u-he software can get pretty demanding
) and the rest is up to your needs....

It's reasonable to assume support for 32-bit plugs in 64-bit DAWs on Intel hardware, or 32-bit DAWs on Intel hardware, well into the future. The problematic cases are about the specific DAWs and bridges, and often further limited to specific plugs. It's like a narrow road upgrading to a highway, the specific instructions on getting somewhere might change and the bridge just has to be smart enough to handle a number of permutations of directions, and without saying 'turn right here' when that actually means going over an overpass towards a fiery death ...
Spent a week in a place with an arcade-scale MAME console a bit ago, would totally go for a USB arcade stick thing

Damn. That's just not fair. I'll be the only one with an ancient PC then
And +1 for 64bit OS with 32 Host/Plugins.
Cheers

Well I've ordered one from that site that whyterabbyt recommended. I ended up spending a *little* bit more than I was hoping, but whatever. I've pretty much got money for Diva and a sandwich and I'm broke
This computer I've been struggling with doesn't even run the XMF filters in Zebra, and won't even LOOK at ACE... So expect some gush threads soon

so you will also get to explore Bazille too! The U-he synth lineup is a remarkably diverse, unique set of synths.Sendy wrote:Well I've ordered one from that site that whyterabbyt recommended. Yep, I've only ever looked at Bazille on my web laptop, which is very fiddly for me for a number of reasons. I recon it's safe to say expect some u-he heavy tracks next yearpdxindy wrote:so you will also get to explore Bazille too! Thanks to all for the advice about 32 vs 64 bit. And I wonder how long until 128 bit
