having used synthmaster in a project in mixcraft 5, i discovered a crash at mixdown to mp3 and wav. using synthmaster on its own produced the same conclusion. in other words synthmaster is playable within the host but not recordible which makes it pretty useless in virtual studio terms. so ive retired it to the has been file.,

I asked Mixcraft guys to send me an NFR license, otherwise I can not debug and fix this issue:

Just submitted a support ticket to them. I hope they send my NFR license so I can debug this issue and issue a fix.

This might be a bug on their end as well. No other host crashes SynthMaster like that.

Would Mixcraft be using a VERY large buffer size when mixing down? i.e. > 8192 samples? That might cause a crash

asio buffer size is set to 512 samples. if i use wrt synthmaster is buffer size incompatible and ive no buffer size option in wrt.

I debugged this after receiving 60 days license for Mixcraft. The audio buffer size was 1024 samples. BUT, at mixdown, Mixcraft set the buffer size to 441 ??? Why??? I'll submit a new support ticket to them. This is the FIRST DAW that's behaving like this...

hey thanks for the support update, i got no feedback from mixcraft whatsoever.

Yes they got back to me, but saying "we change buffer size during mixdown, write your plugin so that it handles this" :x

I'll try to come up with a solution for this case.

Sorry to be a a pain but on top of the issue we've discussed the new update will not load in mixcraft.

I don't wish to cause offence Bulent but surely a plugin should be able to work with whatever buffersize it is given by the host? Other synths can do this fine, is there any specific technical reasons why SM2 cannot do this?

well, the buffer size should be a multiple of 4 samples as we have SIMD instructions all over the place. Anyhow, I remember I implemented something for this case back last year, I'll look into it again.
