Installing U-he plugs

I've just upgraded to a new computer running Win 7. I've read Urs' explanation, but when I go to install Zebra, Uhbik etc. into my (x86) VST Plugins folder, I get zero permission to do so. I can't even install the data files to documents folders on the same drive, on another drive, or even on a thumb-drive, let alone in the VST folder. I keep getting "the system can't find the path specified" and then if I copy all the old VSTs into the plugins folder, Live crashes on startup.

Haven't had trouble installing any other VST software. Just the U-he stuff - which I like the best. :)

There's something I'm doing wrong, right?

Eeeek. Looks like our installer slowly degrades.

How about using the pre-installed versions? Install by drag drop, but follow instruction in "normal" version to create shortcut to data path...

(for 64-bit, just swap 32 into 64)

What else do you need?

I've been wondering what the links to the Uhbik "pre-installed" were. As I recall I was one of the people who was begging for them a while back. Definitely nice to have again.

i had the issue a while back that the installer didn't write the path correctly - i needed to add the final '\' to make it end in '..\ACE.data\' rather than just '..\ACE.data' which returns file errors..
