Hi,
silly question. Something changed with Mulab I am sure because now it opens random projects when I fire up. How can I get back the menu to select project to be loaded please?

I am not entirely sure. Try the following.
When you have a session open, select "session/new", which should give you the default "New" session and save this under "session/Save as New session"
Or open one of your sessions and save it again. After that Mulab should have a 'recent' session and next time you will get the usual selection of open/new..
