Bummer. If there's a 'suggestion box' I would -love- this.pdxindy wrote:Not within Zebra
I'd submit that this is what's missing from EVERY 'browser' system. They all stink.
I don't want categories or 'favorites' or 'authors' (who besides the author gives a hoot?) What I want, is what Zebra -has-... a nice big box to put lots of random info (tags) about a patch in any way you want. Now all one needs is a 'Search' button in the Browser. And the Search button should work like this forum and Google... full-text search for terms.
Perhaps the Scripting language mentioned in the manual will be able to do this?

Keep in mind.
Not everyone agrees with what you view as a good preset manager.
I happen to like Zebra's preset manager.
Be aware, you can spend some time making your own categories up.
Simply organize your own folders.
Does it take more time? Yes.
Most things in life take more time, that are usually worth the results.
Also...I for one, do give a hoot about the authors.
Some of them spend more time making that sound you wanted, than you did reading the manual.

Sounds like I got up yer nose for some reason. Sorry about that. Suggestion posted. Thanks.
But really, when choosing sounds? -No- one I know thinks, 'That phrase really could use some HOWARD SCARR! And that lead at A3 needs a dash of IAN BODDY. And wait, wait... for the coup de gras a smidge of ERIC PERSING on that epic pad!'
It don't work like that. Those guys are wonderful, love their work, but I just don't think about -them- when choosing a -sound-. Or if I do, it's only because I happen to write it down for some reason on one of 4,000 sticky notes. I spend -hours- looking for sounds trying to remember which VSTi, which soundbank, whether it's a 'pad' or a 'lead', All useless stuff. There are only so many hours in the day and anything that makes me more efficient means more time -composing- and less time coming up with neat-o taxonomies.
But again, this is just meant as a suggestion to Urs.
Thanks for your help,
