Hey everyone! I've recently quit my Skyrim addiction, so I could go back to giving my old patchbank some serious overhaul. I'm looking at new patches, old patches 2.5 compatiblizing (yes that's a word now :D), and there's still something I haven't figured out how to do in Zebra, if this is even possible.

Remember in the old Moogs, or was it the modular Moog? Dunno for certain, but there was this "decay" mode. The Minimonsta also has this decay mode. Basically, what this means is, when you release and retrigger a note, the attack starts at the same point where the release is cut off. I think that in a real life synth, it had something to do with the voltage being the same value at the attack point, as it was in the time of release.

I made this quick sketch in Illustrator, to illustrate my point (pardon the pun):

The above curve shows how it is now in Zebra, the below curve shows what i'm looking for.

Anyway, is this possible in Zebra? Because the sound when playing is really more expressive this way, for certain patches, and authenticity.

Thanks in advance for any help!

That's not possible at the moment afaik. Would be a nice idea for Zebra 2.6 though since it IS possible in Tyrell N6 and Diva :)

I usually don't play much games but Skyrim can surely eat up some time :help: :hihi:
I already finished the mainquest (and many others :hihi:) though.

Cheers

Thanks for the quick reply! I've been crunching my noggin over this one lately, glad to finally have an answer.

Would there be a way to write a script for this? Any coders here feel like a challenge? :)

Or maybe some trickery with one of Zebra's versatile modulator features?

Anyway, thanks again for the answer!

Working on this... might happen in 2.6

I think there's a limitation that it's not possible to grab and freeze a value from a mod source when generating a voice. Some mod sources won't change (velocity, keyscale, MMap in 'alternate', some more) but anything that changes over time will continue to change over time rather than sampling once and setting it in stone.

It might be possible to get something usable, interesting, or approximate from the basic idea at play in certain cases but as far as a general solution, I don't think there is one. I think there were some feature requests along these lines and some hints that it's being looked at, though.

Thank you kind sir! :) looking forward to it.

And thanks xh3rv for further clarification.

I shall continue to enjoy Zebra even without this feature then :)
