Reduce MDynamicEQ memory use please

I keep running out of memory using a lot of MDynamicEQ's in a project. Can you do anything at all to make it use less memory please? Maybe remove all those modulation things that i never use anyway. Maybe make a lite version? I'd be willing to pay for it.
For comparison:
1 instance of Pro-Q = 6MB
1 instance of MDynamicEQ = 28MB
(and then the next = 20MB)
My host is Live8 btw.
Thanks

Well, there may be some range for improvement in the GUI system, release some memory when the windows are closed, seems like 6MB per instance. But generally there's not much to do. Usually it doesn't matter, since we tend to use 64-bit platforms and lots and lots of memory. We'll see.

I understand. On my mac with 8gb i don't mind but my main work daw is still 32bit which leaves me with max 3.x gb in xp. In a few months i will get a new win7 daw but up to then it's still this xp machine. MDEQ has become one of my my goto, soundshape and surgical eq's and it's hard to -not- go for it when i need to save memory.MeldaProduction wrote:Well, there may be some range for improvement in the GUI system, release some memory when the windows are closed, seems like 6MB per instance. Anything you can do, i'll be very thankful.

Understand. Will try. So far mapping the memory usage, finding some ways to make it smaller...

Good news - already found a very big optimization
. I'll keep digging to free as much as possible (as far as it doesn't have negative performance consequences).

Hi Vojtech,
Thanks for the update.
I did a quick test and now:
1 instance of MDynamicEQ = 20MB. Before it was 28MB.
(No GUI = 14MB)
Then the next instance is about 6MB each.
It's a good improvement! I still hope though in the future you can optimize it more towards 15MB or little less with visible GUI.
Do you think that is possible?
Oh and just for argument's sake (not to nag;) ), how much MB you think would be be freed up if there were no modulation controllers etc?
Anyway, thanks a lot for your work!

Hey zeep, I'm afraid there's not much more I can do, so it will probably stay like this
, but it's a huge memore reduce! Come on!
Removing modulators would probably help only microscopically if at all.
