Audio Dropouts

I am trying to run my receptor 2 as a host for vst instruments. Everything works but I can't use the receptor as a host because of audio dropouts.

I have tried changing all available buffer settings (fast track pro) and nothing seems to help. I feel like my non firewire interface may be the issue.

Anyone?
