I loaded in MuLab 4 racks a VSTi and connect this with a loopbackdriver to a composingprogram.
Mulab acts here as a host for the 4 VSti racks.(a soundmodule with a device file to make)
In the composer there a 2 midichannels, but it seems that i can only send midi to one rack in Mulab (the 2 midichannels for the composer are not connected with rack 1 and 2 at the same time)

As i understand a Midi loopbackport has 16 midichannels, but Mulab allows only one midichannel(rack) ?
Strange.. :)

I might be wrong, but i think Mulab handles the incoming midi as if they are coming from a keyboard. As midi focus can change at any time, all incoming midi is treated as one channel.

Try the following:
Session menu/Edit Midi Input Focus
and set each VSTi to a fixed midi channel.

This worked here when i setup a keyboard split with different midi channels.
The setup appears to be saved in the session. So you can come back to this setup anytime.

Thanks!
It seems that all incoming midi is stilltreated as one channel
I set the midi input focus for the 2 midi channels on rack 1 and rack 2, but still one midi channel as output

If a play with the midi keyboard in the composer there is also no chance of midichannel when i focus the rack with a mouseclick
The midi stays on one channel - i checked the composer midichannel assigning-i checked Mulab midichannel assigning- and try to do it with the mdikeyboard midichannel assigning..nothing works

So it seems that Mulab it not can handle the external routing? or am i still something overlooking?

This one worked for my keyboard split. Even when fous is on any other module.

I tried again, and set the device setup for the composer on midichannel 1 and 2
I loaded the same VSTi in rack 1 and rack 2 and the setup in MUlab

But still only one midichannel in MUlab for the composer to use.
So i must check this out in a another DAW
Thanks

Well i tried again, but it seems that Mulab as DAW is not suitable for this kind of connection by a loopbackdriver
I don't get the right connection of midi channels in the composer and in Mulab for a sound
maybe it has something to do with getting a focus from a external device? like the composer
I must use one of the big DAWS than e.g Sonar etc
Thanks for the support

Perhaps it has something to do with the VSTi plugin?
I used the old edirol VSTi and it is not possible to assign midi channels on the VSTi

If i use Kontakt sampler than i can assign midichannels there too as i have seen in a example video.. try this out
