it would be great for my workflow

in Live, i have to create a new clip every time i want to chg patches. that becomes tedious when chging patches every 2 beats or more

When you click into the preset browser (list of presets on right hand side) you can use your up/down keys to flip through patches.

Other than that, standard MIDI Program Changes and Bank Select messages are way to go for production/performance.

There might be a MIDI VST that intercepts a range of notes and performs actions -- you just need to send PC 1 for note 1 and PC 2 for note 2 ... etc. It's definitely doable.

How many patches are you flipping between? If that's a low count, I'd suggest - use chain selector in a Live rack, then MIDI/key map or put on a rack macro knob.

sometimes 2 per bar

but yeah, that's the way to go with Live

(don't know of any vst to do this)

thx!

Piz midiConverter3 sounds like it might do what you're after:

midiConverter3 - Change and convert between CC, Channel Pressure, Poly Aftertouch, Program Change, Pitch Bend, NRPN/RPN, Note On/Off, and other messages in various ways.

but that inserts as an instrument rather than an effect

I would also like to request an keyswitching (maybe an octave?). This would be very useful for live performance where one has several related patches / "articulations" similar to how some of the modern sample libraries work. Program change isn't so practical for live performance. It would be great to have this in all u-he synths...
