Jo, could you please change the key command for "Show Session MUX" into a toggle command...perhaps toggle Show/Hide...
As far as I remember, this was the old behaviour. Is no big deal, but I find this a way more usefull than this "single-sided" commands

And one more, one more please
:
Is there any way to realize "sticky" racks in the rack desk...
I noticed in one project, that if you use more racks, the master rack "disappeared", which I personaly would always like to have in sight...
Same with racks used as busses or send returns...
Of course there are workarounds, respectfully a different workflow (using less racks and working more modular), but sometimes it's easier to work with more racks for the general overview...

And then it dissapears, if you have to scroll to the right to work on the last racks...AndreasD wrote:and there is always the Reaper way - put the master to the left

You can go in the Modular Area double click the Master Rack and have it floating by itself. Not that elegant but until better options....

what about a floating meter bridge... or one that shows on mouse over or one that only shows when you press (and hold) F10 for example and shift F10 to make it float

Mmm... being able to have a master rack completely separate but docked/floating would be nice.

But you can, by double click it in the Modular Area and having it floating anywhere and then minimize it to the task-bar so you can pop it anytime.pljones wrote:Mmm... being able to have a master rack completely separate but docked/floating would be nice.
The only thing is that it is still present in the main racks window. Maybe that's good anyway.

No, that's a complete mess, I'm afraid. It's inconsistent and confusing to have the same component in two places at once.
You could get rid of the current rack-dock system and just use the modular area. However, it would be nice to keep the specialised rack-dock but enhance it to make it support users' workflow more comfortably. Being able to drag individual racks out, sticky them, partition the rack-dock and many more ideas have been buzzing around in my head for a while. It's already a great way to keep the simple things tidy. It would be nice if it were more flexible, too...

i remember liking the meter in sound forge a while back (a single high resolution meter to the right side of the screen). maybe a similar idea would fit in better with whats already there, and perhaps you could specify which source to display with the default of course being the master buss.

Yes that's the problem, two places at once, I know. I don't know if is that confusing though...pljones wrote:No, that's a complete mess, I'm afraid. It's inconsistent and confusing to have the same component in two places at once.

Orion has it nice IMO, one button opens and closes the Mixer and another button for the Master, Sends and Bus. Very practical, but not in the concept of MuLab.

+1. As someone who really likes Mulab's modular features and uses them a lot I miss the toggle behaviour in this and the play / deep editors.Trancit wrote:Jo, could you please change the key command for "Show Session MUX" into a toggle command...perhaps toggle Show/Hide...

Could do it with separate keyboard shortcuts I guess, but it was great as it was.

It is possible with different shortcuts, but I am used to leave my finger on the last key, so I open the session MUX with a key hit with the left hand, tweak, what I want by using the mouse with the right hand but leaving my "left finger" on the key... so toggle command is perfect for me...robenestobenz wrote: Could do it with separate keyboard shortcuts I guess, but it was great as it was.

No, I totally agree. The toggle behaviour felt so natural that I didn't even realise how much I used it until it was gone!Trancit wrote:It is possible with different shortcuts, but I am used to leave my finger on the last key, so I open the session MUX with a key hit with the left hand, tweak, what I want by using the mouse with the right hand but leaving my "left finger" on the key... so toggle command is perfect for me...robenestobenz wrote: Could do it with separate keyboard shortcuts I guess, but it was great as it was.

this is sorta what im talking about with the task bar behavior i wish was there. its all about simplicity and functionality right? if the same button shows/hides something then to me it makes sense to the workflow.
