I decided to migrate from Improvements topic (guitar theme started somethere http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... start=1305 and ended somethere http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... start=1350) here.
I managed to improve my Zebra guitar (now it more convincing at low notes). It isn't polished yet, but sounds good. But I haven't reworked my body model still, so here is sample with gtrbody impulse response. The same flamenko as hakey used.

Now I want to design good body model, may be within the Zebra.

This sounds very similar to the "Spring" classical guitar I've been cooking up with Zebra.
Let me have the midi file so I can post a clip just for fun!

I think he followed the link from Hakey here3ee wrote:

Cool, thanks!
Here's the clip:

Well, it sounds much dry_er, but seems that it's basically the same thing.

It is interesting! May be we used the same idea for the patch?3ee wrote:

My patch basically consists of 2 parts: low-mid frequency part (additive synthesis in spectrablend) and mid-high frequency part (comb-filter-based Karplus-Strong algorithm). Also there is noise generator. Patch is need some tweaking though (especially hi-frequency part).
Also it is interesting that I experimented with adding inharmonic frequency content into the attack phase of the sound. And guitar sound transformed to piano sound! Adding detuned version of the same sound improved piano illusion. May be I'll experiment with it later.

I have done quite a few guitar patches using Zebra.
Here's a couple examples.

Interesting because I've used a completely different approachtrance_lucent wrote: It is interesting! May be we used the same idea for the patch?

I used 2 oscs in GeoMorph mode pulse-sq... sync on, PWM on .. oscfx like (static) hypercomb and expander.. and a parallel comb module for the body... that's basically it.
I have a big problem with running out of mod matrix slots when attempting to physical model something.. like in this case as well
@mcnoone, interesting plectrum action

12 slots not enough for you?3ee wrote: I have a big problem with running out of mod matrix slots when attempting to physical model something.. like in this case as well
I used only 2 or 3.

My new Zebra Acoustic Guitar model, inspired by http://www.ece.cmu.edu/research/publica ... 95-018.pdf waveguide synthesis.
No external processing (except limiter on masterbus), guitar body modelled with Zebra EQs.

There's an excellent electric distorted guitar patch by Michael in his Soliton bank. Leads -> The Ripper. I lost at least an hour last night playing and tweaking. Pentatonic in D and use that aftertouch!!hollo wrote:MC's Zefal is good for electric stuff.

...i don't own it ( yet !) but this undoubtely confirmed to me why zebra has the highest rate here at kvr

I think that decay is too fast.trance_lucent wrote:My new Zebra Acoustic Guitar model, inspired by http://www.ece.cmu.edu/research/publica ... 95-018.pdf waveguide synthesis.

Quick note about structure and how to adjust decay.
There are two lanes representing "horizontal mode" and 'vertical mode" string vibrations. Each have comb filter as vibrating string model. I think that second lane (vertical mode) has right decay, but may be it is need to make decay longer in the first lane (horizontal mode). For that it is need to set Comb1 Feedback higher, I think 70 is ok.
But short decay is sometimes good in terms of making mix clearer.
