New Songs and some requests...

Hey everyone,

I'm almost certain you won't remember me, because it's been so long again. But finally I dug up my precious MuLab and played in a few songs using KONTAKT mostly...and what a joy that is.

Anyway, thought I might share those clunky revival tunes with you...
Jazzuli:

Airison:

And here are my requests:
1)
When drawing a velocity change line across several notes, it would be awesome if it could be set to do percentage as opposed to the absolute change it makes by default. Not sure, if I missed a trick or so, but if I didn't, that would be an excellent improvement.

2)
A solo button on a sequence edit window. It's a bit painful to always move it out of the way to toggle solo for that track. Again, it's quite possible that I'm missing some trick...?

Anyway, I still love MULab for what it does and have a great time doodling with it again!

EEeehh, Ahhh, haha! Thanks! But it obviously comes through that I'm white, huh?! ...doh!

Well, just noticed that a flute pitch was off on its first hit and updated Jazzuli. Now that could make another request: When in doubt, reset CC values?! At least before the first note gets played on a track.

THANKS, DiGiT! :D

no, i saw your pic.

but you basically run circles around anybody else that uses this program. that first song is very fusion style funk/jazz.

so yous a fonkay white boy, its a compliment.

Really? Hmmm...that could explain a few of the handling things that I'd expect people to nag around about, hehe...but other than that I really love it quite a bit. I sure hope this might inspire more eager musicians to try it out!

I just like it simple, really. I've worked with Cubase, Nuendo amongst others, and they just don't act solid for me, why ever, and are full of mysterious BS. Just a few more tweaks to MuLAB and it could be a neat front runner in my opinion.

UH, aside all that... THANKS AGAIN, hehe, that's a very nice compliment and I also did perceive it as a compliment with the funkiness of mine, hehe. Fusion, yeah, that's what I thought this might be, but I'm a total genre-retard, so to say, no clue. I don't really ever listen to music, you know. Anyway...

I might have another tune tomorrow. I just found this unbelievable acoustic guitar for kontakt (Ilya Efimov), it's - wow. I must do something with it! :-o

:D

Nice tracks :)

Fine Tracks. The others too. Is the E-Guitar in "Airison" real? Sounds a bit like MOldfield (this is no affront!). :tu:

I would agree 100 % - I missed it just this morning. But I guess, we already can manage that by user defined shortcuts. Will try it tonight. Must keep shortcuts in mind more often. :bang:

Ehehe, that's right, shortcuts....hmmmm....now I'm a bit ashamed myself, but still, I believe it's a little more elegant to reserve a fixed place for it on the sequence window. May be an area that could get a few more functions eventually, too.

Here's a new one from today. I'm currently rediscovering all my old sound treasures, hehehe, doodling away. This one's particularely, ehm...eh...cheesy? Maybe sensual in a 80's kinda way.

Thanks, Soro and JR!
OH, the guitar is a kontakt 5 sound, well, two of them, I've distorted the jazz guitar a bit for the second lead set. I absolutely love this sound!

Added a note to the wishlist.

You could assign a shortcut to Track->Solo.
Oh, but that doesn't work from the sequence editor yet.
I'll make sure track shortcuts are also taken into account there.

Phewwww, that could've given me some grief, hehe. GREAT!
I'd still recommend the little button or set of potential buttons array. I know it will come in handy. ;)

By the current rate of me making songs again I might just start a little gallery thread for it again. I really still love your App very much! :D

No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Yes i agree.
I have a generic solution in mind, now i must find the time to implement it.

Taron: took a listen to those two songs. Very nice. Great feel to both.

Thanks, Dave!
In the meantime I've made at least two more, hehe, kind of a productive set of days, experimenting around. I'm having too much fun with kontakt instruments.

I've added a player onto my website: www.taron.de

I'll keep posting new songs to soundclick, so they'll show up in the list there. Latest songs are "Timi goes into space" and "One of those trips". Not sure, if you saw "touch", too. Seems like it got swallowed in the replies here.

Anyway, thanks again, and I'll keep posting new stuff or at least let you know. If you would like to, you may also just check every now and then on my site.

Are you guys on soundclick or any of those sites, too? Would be kinda nice to have a sort of "user gallery" with links to all your music, too.[/code]
