Hey all,

It's out, beta testing closed - will move back to normal Diva thread.

This one *will* go official in an hour. Please check it out and send email asap if anything is totally wrong...

Rev. 674 aka. 1.1 (RC5)

- should be final
- added "!" to Treasure Trove!
- sorts image files in case they're mangled (aka Reaper LED bug)

Main changes and additions:

1. Multicore Support

Finally play as many voices as you like on selected systems! This needs multicore system with on-cpu-memory-interface like i5, i7, Nehalem.

2. up to 40% less CPU usage on expensive presets

We have improved the feedback prediction algorithim in the filters so dramatically that highly resonant patches will now use up to 40% less cpu than older versions. Can't get that sound any faster ;)

3. Improved sound quality

You'll notice that Diva now sounds like a freshly refurbished analogue synthesizer. We've polished the attack transients and we've added a bit more shine to the VCO models. Even though these changes are subtle we recommend to render your current projects done with Diva before installing this beta.

Background: Actually, what happened is this... to improve the crossmodulation behaviour of the very early betas, we switched away from the widely used miniBLEPs, towards a version with more accurate phase response. A few people then noticed that Diva's release version sounded a tad duller than the beta. We fixed that now, so she got all the glamour of the beta back alongside the goodness that we added later :)

4. Revised User Guide

More info, more detail, more tutorials, more fun to read! (included in downloads)

Enjoy,

;) Urs & team

Rev. 673

- fixed bug that could cause buffer overrun in KORE
- revised Note scheduling revised again and yet again
- No more crashes in Cubase64 when loading Diva as 32bit (mac)
- New parameter "Bipolar Noise" can be turned off to restore buggy DC-offsets in the oscillator noise from version 1.0.1

Rev. 657

- 50 more HS Presets
- Mr Wobble bank (in Diva's excellent third party section)

Rev. 655

- Init-preset is correct in the presence of MIDI Banks
- No more crashes after long silence

Rev. 646

- "reveal in Finder" works for Carbon

Rev. 546-631 history

- Multi-threaded operation allows to use multi-core capabilities
- Diva's filters are a lot faster in many cases

Sound:
- White-noise dc-offset removed
- Panning inverted to make it correct
- Triggered notes sound more coherent
- Sonic improvements (more harmonics, less noise in vcf and synced oscs)
- New feature "Transient Mode" allows to reset dc-blockers and filter states on attack

Usability:
- Completely new MIDI-learn mode

- Presets are drag'n'dropable in Cocoa

Bugfix:

This is quite an improvement. A patch like HS Sparkle has worked my i7 920 CPU pretty hard but with the multi-core switch checked, the CPU load drops drastically. This will make working with multiple Diva patches a lot easier. Great stuff Urs! :)

You can choose a different location.

You will need the gui file for some of the new features (button to enable multithreading)

OMG! :o

Tighter, clearer with more detailed.. definitely noticing this on most of my patches that I'm very familiar with!

Not to mention the "multi-threaded" button that's got a significant impact on my Intel QuadCore 2.6GHz

Very happy about this update indeed, thanks again! :)

Since you don't usually charge for updates, I consider it to be very reasonable to put a "beer box" or something, somewhere so that "fanboiz" (or us ;) ) can buy the u-he team a beer or 2 once in a while! :D

Unbelievably excellent !

Patches that were problematic at 8x2 are now utter goodness at 16x4.

THANKS !
