Patches, patches, patches... played mostly horribly because I'm a bit spaced out on antibiotics

Yo Sendy,

really cool stuff you've got there going. Tasteful sounds for the ride offroad to the mainstream. Thanx for sharing! :)

Post

Really great sounding and imaginative patches! Can we expect a Diva soundbank from you at some point?

Post

Great sounds Sendy.
Love the playing too.

Post

These are brilliant. Very different from most DIVA clips.

Post

Way to eke out the stranger stuff! Sort of a post-modern modern-vintage digital-analogue flavour.

I am quite sure Diva was never meant to be (ab-)used in this way, so thanks for that. Great fun to listen to. ;)

Thanks for all the kind words! I'm all for a merger of digital and analogue, and I think the big pull for VA synths, for me at least, is the combination of analogue texture and depth, with digital control. My background and learning comes from the chiptune school, so I'm really into maximising parameters and trying to find the corners of a system. Of course, Diva doesn't have many corners, she's mostly curves :D

I'll be honest, I've been thinking of making a small business out of sound design for a while, because I have a huge libary of sounds for many different synths, which I made to use in my own music, but of course I can never use them all. At some point a couple of years ago, making sounds ceased to be a thing I did to provide material for my own music, and it became a sort of fixation.

Whether I do try and charge for it or not, I'll defeinitely release something for Diva :)

Well now I feel bad for "only" posting this here and not in Instruments where my first impulse lead me. Given that there are questions in that forum about whether Diva can do more modern-ish sounds, it's maybe relevant. No prises for guessing why I didn't post it there.

There's some really messed up atmosphere in this place these days in the main forums. It's a bit saddening really, when we have so many new cool synths.

+1 some real nice sounds there.
So what other plug-ins have you got sounds designed for?
Why not give turning it into a business a try,you obviously have a talent for sound design.

Thanks. I'm going to give it a try! I think my biggest sound collection might be for Vanguard. Without blowing my own trumpet or anything, I think I got some stuff out of that that was fairly unique, and harly any of it "trancey". Quite a lot for Linplug Alpha 3, PlastiCZ, ImpOscar, Tau Pro, Memorymoon, SAM, Dirty Harry, Basic65, Korg Polysix... mostly fairly oldish synths.

I've also got a lot of stuff for freeware synths, which I want to release (for free, obviously) - GTG 44s, TAL Noisemaker (some of these got included in the last official release), Tyrrel, the Elektrostudio synths, etc...

Then I have some small but growing collections for synths I've just gotten into, like Diva, Corona (really unusual synth!), JP6K, Zebra and ACE.

There's also my wavetable collection for Zebra, which I've added a fair bit to since I published it last.

Sounds(no pun intended :hihi: ) like you've got quite a collection there.Maybe you could use the patches you've done for freeware synths to help promote banks for the payware synths if you decide to sell your patch banks.Good luck with it if you decide to give it a go :)

Seeing Corona on your list reminds me that I must give it a try, haven't gotten around to having a proper play with the demo yet.

Good sounds. The first one is kinda CS-ey. Very cool.

Wow, very nice stuff Sendy. Was watching this doco today:

And some of your stuff seems to be right from that early era of Modular synthesis.

Would love you to make a bank out of this, esp that crazy phasing pad and that organ pad, very much up my alley kinda sounds. The rest of it too.
