New Install...

I had to reformat the disk on my main computer so I copied the MuLab folder and put it back on after reinstall. Do I need to put my license key back in? If so I also forgot to back up my mail preferences so I don't have my license key either along with a million email addresses. Yep. Dumb, I know but, I backed up a billion files AND the email archives but forgot to drag the folder with the email archives onto the backup disk at the last moment. I hope this doesn't sound like a typical story as I should no better... I'm old. Ha!

Just mail me, include your real name, then i'm able to find your MuLab User Key here and email it to you.

Anyone using MuLab on a Mac... something mysterious has happened since I reloaded my computer with a fresh install of Snow Leopard. MuLab won't start up with the audio/midi settings functioning? I have to go into midi setup and select the ports and close to get the sound running? I would say it's the system, but this setup plays all standalone instruments AND 2 other DAWs I've tried... Live and EXT. It was working fine until I reformatted the disk and reloaded everything. Arghh!

Did you receive my last email about testing the audio engine itself?
If the audio engine itself is working fine, then we can conclude that it's only about the MIDI engine, and in that case i'm afraid it's a known issue which i could not resolve until now. See http://www.mutools.com/mulab/docs/troubleshooting.html
I've researched this issue deeply on a mac which also suffered from it and i could only conclude there is something wrong in OSX as OSX does not report any errors while the MIDI ports are opnened, but then MIDI input simply is not coming thru

Well that's a bummer. Since I was planning on using MuLab not the other DAWs that are working fine... I've tried Live, EXT, Reaper, and wasn't going to bother reloading Logic, but now I have to regroup. Another odd behavior that has popped up is when I go to select audio from the menu, in the template I'm using... the screen turns black and goes to a different screen/template then changes back when I select ok in the dialog??? I've redownloaded the latest version, trashed audio/midi prefs etc. No luck. Oh Well. Back to the drawing board I guess.

Doesn't EXT, Reaper, ... suffer from the same MIDI issue?
IIRC it was a system wide problem, not MuLab specific.
Only apple apps themselves don't suffer from it i guess they know more than they publish to developers.

Tried all of them and they are functioning correctly. Very strange as I've never had this problem with any versions of MuLab except when reloading or changing versions. Doesn't seem to like Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Er, I have no interest in Live and Reaper is way too bloated... I don't really want to upgrade Logic either as I think development is dead and I don't use half the functions in there. So my intention was to find a capable DAW that wasn't too big but was developed and maybe even innovative... MuLab!
Yo!

I've had the same issue with my MAC since installing MuLabs, but the ease of use of the program and the results I get with it make the few extra clicks required after launching seem insignificant.
