Zebrify: Triggering MSEGs from audio input (Env, Transient etc.)?

It seems that MSEGs in Zebrify currenty only trigger on midi notes, i.e. you can't have an MSEG trigger based on any of the audio-input based parameters in the Input pane (Transient, Envelope Follower etc.).

Am I missing something or is there a workaround? And if not, could this functionality please (please) be added in the future? It seems the easiest would be a switch on the MSEG pane to set the trigger to either either MIDI or the Audio Input Parameters. Alternatively, you could do it like AbsynthFX, where you define which note is triggered when a threshhold is reached.

Provided I'm not missing something obvious I feel this would be an important addition to Zebrify, because while you can currently modulate almost everything, you can't trigger those modulators unless you're playing a midi instrument (at which point you'd be better off using Zebra, hehe).

We'll be working on that... it's important for Zebrify and aso for Uhbik, Filterscape and MFM

Thank you Urs, that would be great! I'm also reassured I wasn't missing something.

*bump* I think this is still the case but want to make sure. Any updated info on triggering MSEG from an incoming audio stream?

Yeah, Zebrify's MSEGs are basically useless without this unless you're playing a VSTi into it. There's so much more you could do with it if it had envelope triggering on the MSEGs.

It DOES have MSEG triggering, but currently only via MIDI Note On messages.

I think that's what he said :)

Anyway, I do find the MSEG triggering useful. I would also like to be able to trigger it with an envelope follower.

Maybe there's another plugin that will generate midi from envelopes? That would be clumsy but could do the job. And hopefully at some point triggering MSEG from incoming envelope gets added.

You can send Note On messages even if the input is audio. Doesn't have to be MIDI passed on from an instrument plugin!

I've done this before. It's been a while but I had something set up that would trigger a note on when audio reached a threshold and a note off when the level went below a different threshold. A basic window comparator with a MIDI output. I'm not sure if I made it in Max4Live or Numerology. I made it specifically to trigger envelopes on my modular but I used it with Zebrify as well.

If I can track it down, I'll post details.

Thanks for replying Howard! I'm confused now though: Currently, the envelope and transient section of Zebrify is not able to create note-on messages to trigger Zebrify's MSEGs right?
