I'm thinking about biting the bullet and purchasing Omnisphere. If anybody has any experience with it in Mulab I would appreciate it if you would share your experience. I am using a iMac (Snow Leopard) with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 8 GB of RAM. It sounds like a great soft-synth that would be great for my projects, but I understand it may have some quirks in 32 bit DAWs.

Thanks!

Wow, that's a lot of money you are willing to invest there. I have never tested that synth, but I doubt it is worth the money, quite frankly. Have you ever tested it? Because of the size there doesn't seem to be any demo version.

Nor do I think your computer is up to the task. It says you need at least a 2.4GHz processor, I assume that's for just one instance. I suppose it is intended for studios with powerful workstation computers.

You're welcome. I was thinking about it too, but it's a little too demanding on my laptop. It's really an amazing instrument.
Enjoy!

Got Omnisphere installed and I have to say that with a couple of exceptions everything works great in Mulab. I had 3 separate instances opened and did not eclipse 30% CPU load. The only issues are negligible:

1. I can't seem to enter text into the browser search field
2. The mouse scroll in the search fields doesn't work (click and drag does)

I am able to use the streaming mode, which I understand some 32 bit DAWs have trouble with.
I don't want to sound like a commercial for Omnisphere, so I'll just say I feel the expense was worth it. One thing that I did that was very easy in Mulab was to create some percussion sounds with Omnisphere and use those to create a new MuDrum kit tailor made for a current project. So far the 2 are playing nice with each other.
