Thesys: alternate way (other notes or CCs) to select patterns?

I recently purchased Thesys. Perhaps this has been answered before (be kind, I did try to search and I have read the manual) but is it possible to remotely select patterns using different notes or continuous controllers and NOT the notes indicated in the keyboard control area?

The reason is that I wish to select patterns but I also wish to use those keys on the keyboard for pitches!
