Hi,

I currently have an old Macbook Intel Core Duo, running ableton live 8.

I have tried out Diva and am pretty much blown away, I can make patches that are on par with my hardware Moog Slim Phatty :-) (Minus the overdrive distortion).

I was wanting a polyphonic Analogue for Chords & Pads (was thinking down the lines of DSI), but after hearing Diva am seriously thinking of just going doing the softsynth route. I need to update my computer anyway, as when using mixing/mastering plug-ins I use up my CPU pretty quick.

So I was thinking of upgrading to the Macbook Pro i7 2.6GHz Quad with 8GB memory. I need the laptop form, as I use it for other uses too and want to eventually gig. This leads onto another question, when playing live I will have a lot bounced down to Audio in Ableton, but want to play NI Massive & potentially Diva Live (via my Novation SL25). Will the new Macbook have enough guts for this?

Thanks

Plays fine on all our i7 MBPs. Quad cores get you a big improvement from multicore support.
