playing with the MMultiBandGranular plugin yesterday (v 7.03, VST version on Live, OSX 10.7), I met the problem of the keys that were stolen by the host when trying to enter a preset name.
Steps:
- open the preset window
- click on the add preset button
- a window opens with a default name
- try to type a new name: some keys are not responding (eg type 'backspace' to erase the default name, and the plugin is removed from the track - Live has stolen the key)
Having searched the forum for such a bug, I came upon a reponse of yours saying that it was mainly a problem with the host so I wrote a support request to ableton and the answer came quickly:
Code: Select all
thank you for contacting Ableton!
I was able to reproduce the problem you're describing with the VST version of MeldaProduction plug-ins. But the problem didn't appear when using the Audio Unit version. Therefore, I would recommend to use the Audio Unit version.
You might also report this problem to the plug-in manufacturer.
Let me know if this works! So maybe is this not only a problem with the host?
Then I got the news that a new version 7.03c was out, fixing among others a problem with stolen keys so I downloaded it, gave it a try and saw that my problem was not fixed.
The people I talked to at Ableton support told me that he had write an email to you to present you the problem.
I thought it was important to talk about that on the forum.
Cheers,
Ben
